Follow-up Thank-You Letters

The follow-up, thank-you letter is a powerful and often overlooked job search tool. Even though resumes and cover letters get the attention of the hiring authority, thank-you letters often get results. When used properly, they can help you make an even better positive impression with employers in addition to a verbal thank-you. People respond well to those who show good manners and say thank-you. Let the professionals at JaneCo assist you with your clerical needs.

Some situations when you might want JaneCo to write a thank-you letter for you:

  • Before an interview, thanking the employer for being willing to see you.
  • After an interview, thanking the employer for the interview and mailing it within 24 hours after the interview takes place
  • After networking with someone who gives you a lead in your job search

Why send a thank-you after an interview?

  • To create a positive impression that you have good follow-up skills
  • To show that you have good manners
  • To remain in the employer's consciousness at an important time
  • To discuss any weakness/concerns that may have surfaced in the interview and address the issue(s) in a positive way and restating why you are a good choice for the position
  • To enclose one of JaneCo's NetCards with the letter

Testimonials

"I can see the difference your organization makes. The way the resume was worded added the perk that made it really stand out.? We are very particular about things in this office and I'm glad your organization helps people make a better appearance on paper and in person. We don't have a need too often to hire secretarial help, but your client came through for us when we did need someone. Thanks for making us notice her with the way you put together her documents."
